AI PR Toolkit’s Media Database helps you find journalists and outlets based on their recent coverage and focus areas. AI search offers a conversational way to explore the media and identify relevant contacts for your story.
When to use AI search
This feature is useful when you want to:
- Discover journalists and outlets based on your story, brand, or industry
- Explore niche angles or sector-specific coverage
- Let AI guide you in refining your search
- Save time by skipping manual filtering or keyword research
How to start a search
From the left-hand menu, go to Contact Search. There, you’ll see three tabs:
- Search with AI
- By keywords
- By outlet name
Learn more about searching by keywords or creating and editing media lists.
Click Search with AI and type a short description of what you’re looking for, for example: the topic, industry, or audience type. The AI may ask follow-up questions to clarify your focus and help narrow down the results.
Tip: Try different prompts. You can start with a broad topic (like data privacy) or go more specific (like data privacy for small businesses in the US). The AI will help you refine it either way.
Viewing and saving results
Once your search is complete, you’ll see a list of journalists and outlets who recently covered your topic.
For each result, you’ll see:
- Why this contact is relevant – a short explanation of why they were matched, based on recent publications, topics of interest, or outlet focus
- A sample article – if available, linked directly in the result
- Options to view their profile or add them to your list
To save contacts:
- Select the checkbox next to the names
- Click Add to list
- Choose an existing list or create a new one
This allows you to keep relevant contacts grouped and ready for your next campaign, all without leaving the search results view.
